Meanwhile a 2080ti in canada is 1600-1900$ on newegg or amazon.

Damn country.

Well aren't the rumors all pretty good tho? To me it seems "people" are expecting good jump's from cartel green/red.

I'm a fool that wants to get a 3080, I'd be wiser to get nothing, or maybe a 3070. The more people like me spending on $800 cards, the more the will keep making more expensive cards.

I REALLY REALLY better wait for both teams to launch, before buying. They better hurry up

ebay? you can snag an EVGA for less than a grand all week, close to $800 on a good day. will evga take RMAs from canada on used product though? that's the question! seems like they'd just make you pay for shipping. who knows though, that kinda stuff gets weird.

If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.
Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.

It's crazy. I can just rationalize when I got a new 980ti for $1050CAD all inc, then I got a great cross-US-border deal on 2070 extreme core, got it for less than the price of the cheapest "crappy" 2070 in Canada.

So now I'd like a 3080 for $750US/1000CAD

The smart thing to do would be stay on my current card at least 1 more gen, then get a 4080 at what ever price and call it done for another 3 years.

$699 2080 ti drops, n these same people would say it needs to be a $499 card. I'm not disagreeing, but pretending like its some artificial unnatural occurance in the market, is just kinda silly. NV definitely got to run around charging whatever they want, but i think in reality that really translates to NV gimped everyone AND charged them more. prices aren't changing, just the performance delivered per dollar will change.

people need to not expect AMD to come out being everyone's buddy once they can compete again. They might cut you $100-$200, but that's about it. They won't be as generous as they were in the CPU segment.
Lol if all AMD can offer is a $100-200 cheaper card at "similar" performance with powerdraw and cooling aside I'd still pay up for an Nvidia card because at least there I'll have better drive support. AMD has a software problem right now, and to a lesser extent hardware in regards to pushing their cards too hard out of the box to try and compete at the expense of massive heat and power draw.

This 80CU card will definitely give the 2080Ti a run for its money, but what about the 3080Ti Nvidia is already done with? They can and will drop that card as soon as AMD is going to take the performance crown from the 2080Ti, and we'll be back to where we are now.

I'm ok with being one gen behind Nvidia's flagship performance at the right price. I've stuck with not spending over $550 on a card and it's the only reason I picked up my Radeon VII. Unfortunately it now looks like end of sale is actually coming as the last XFX cards are back up to $599 and back ordered on amazon till mid march.

This should be rumours section. Wccf has been going bonkers with any half baked rumour at the moment.

Also gamers need a good powerful card that is priced appropriate already. Researchers and AI can get bent for now.

Make a different card or leave the titan for that. Ti card should be for gamers, and with that I welcome AMD to make one faster then 2080ti for the purpose of gaming .

AMD seems to always "have a software problem" any time they're doing well in the GPU segment.

perception goes a long way.

I'd be willing to bet people give nV hiccups a couple more chances than AMD hiccups, simply due to the 15 year old perception that radeon drivers are trash ( which lets face it, compared to days of past, their drivers are anything but trash. less consistent than NV? for sure.)

WCCFtech going into the rumors section would require mods giving a derp, and the OPs not being shills with a direct goal.

Yea I know, the defense of studios and researchers made me die a bit inside. Will somebody think of the studios with their big budgets and the researchers with their lack of grants and funding, PLEASE!

(yes I know there are independents out there but they are an even smaller majority than gamers)

Besides, any serious research or studio is using non consumer hardware. Prosumers are far more rare than some people make them out to be.

I don't think power draw is the question. The question is how competitive it will be with Nvidia's next high end offerings. It's not noteworthy that they have something faster than the 2080 Ti after a year and a half.
