That DudeRandom84 makes me wish I kept one of my 780tis
Sure he has it clocked relatively high compared to the other 3 cards, but mine both held 100mhz more 24/7 so it's not like it is maxed or anything.

But the driver support Nvidia is providing must be pretty strong because the 780ti is still running smoother than Navi in almost all of the latest games while seriously lacking in vram and having no async compute and little post processing ability.
Still looks like how I remember it.

These leaks sound like my wishlist though. I liked the NVCache one since that could help along my quad core cpu if true.

except NV will be selling the full 84 for like $2,000+ as a Titan. while 3080ti comes in @ like 80 maybe.

or is the drive for AI innovation really gonna start paying off on the gaming side soon? that would be cool.

Totally wouldn't make it negligible. Right now the games that are out that use RT almost all just do it in one way, either just RT reflections or just RT global illumination and to a pretty limited degree. Digital foundry just did a video on a game that can be tweaked to enable more RT settings and they're able to bring a 2080Ti down to 7 FPS with everything enabled. Given that, a 4-5 fold improvement in RT would just barely make 4K/30FPS doable with more RT settings enabled.

I'm speaking for the current paradigm, which has been a hybrid of sorts. We're a long way from rendering modern looking games fully with RT.

If a 100FPS raster game goes down to, say, 20FPS with RTX, a 4x increase in RT speed would basically mean we'd get 80FPS. That's a pretty big difference.

In any case, it's all speculative at this point.

I remain skeptical. Stuff like this is almost certainly under an NDA.

Whoever has provided this information is obviously breaking company regulations. But my biggest issue is how Nvidia seems to have finalised performance numbers 6 7 months before release. That seems skeptical to me.

If only it was that simple. Does the same thing happen with 2060 vs 2080 Ti? 4x faster RT will not mean 4x more RT performance or 4x less hit from RT. Cuda cores still have to process the data from RT cores. Memory BW is very critical. You would probably see a Scenario like this:

2080 Ti - 100 fps OFF / 20 fps ON
3080 Ti - 140 fps OFF / 70 fps ON

Sure, everything you say could be absolutely true. However, it's still speculation about speculation, which is worse than just speculation.

Napkin math about a vague figure like "4x RT" can only take you so far. And that's exactly how far I got.
