Well, she said Zen 4. Not Ryzen 4000. Zen 3 is Ryzen 4000, Zen 4 Ryzen 5000.

Ryzen 5000, 5nm, PCIe 5.0, DDR5. Lines up nicely, and you can expect AMD to market the hell out of that.

I dont think we will get pcie5 so far as 4 considering intel still in 3. Also, 2021 still has room for some zen3 refresh or zen3+.

Well, Intel was originally planned to skip 4.0 and jump on 5.0, but something happened to change their mind. Not sure what that could have been. I remember reading something that said pcie 5.0 2022. So, if we're getting Zen 3 q4 2020, fleshing the lineup throughout 2021, and zen 4 the next year, then 5.0 could make it.

They should call the ryzen refresh chips zen 3. So that 4000 series is zen 4. It will make it less confusing in the long run.

Then the zen 5 could be all 5's. 5nm, PCIe 5.0, Ryzen 5000, AVX 512.
The Core Complex Die (CCD) is fabricated on TSMC 7 nm HPC process
The client I/O Die (cIOD) is fabricated on GlobalFoundries 12 nm process
The server I/O Die (sIOD) is fabricated on GlobalFoundries 14nm process.

Nah - Lets keep the confusion coming.

In reality... they are committed to it as Zen signifies an architecture and Ryzen is just the series. I.E. Zen 1 is both Ryzen 1000 and Ryzen 2000 series. Zen 2 is Ryzen 3000 series and will be Ryzen 4000 (if 4 is refresh). Zen 3 will be Ryzen 5000.

With 5nm chiplets and a 7nm i/o die. They should be able to have 4 chiplets. Ill take a 32c/64t AM4.

I dont think AMD will push more than 16C until Intel comes close to that core count.

why would they go from 14/12 directly to 7nm on the i/o? doesn't make sense.
