[TechSpot] Leak shows AMD "Ryzen C7" SoC for smartphones with impressive specs

Quote:
According to a leak spotted by Twitter user HansDeVriesNL, AMD may be preparing a Ryzen-branded smartphone SoC that, if proven real, could shake up the mobile market much in the same way as desktop and workstation Ryzen processors have done for PCs.

Specifically, the company could be preparing an SoC named "Ryzen C7" that features two Gaugin Pro cores based on ARM's recently announced Cortex X1 cores running at 3GHz paired with two cores based on the Cortex A78 running at 2.6 GHz, and four low-power cores based on the Cortex A55 running at 2 GHz.

Perhaps more interesting is that the chip seems to pack the elusive RDNA-based smartphone graphics solution that AMD and Samsung partnered for in 2019. This solution has been shown to be significantly faster than the Adreno 650 found in top smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S20.

If this is true, this would be great news for the mobile market.

If that's true then looks like AMD wants to be EVERYWHERE with their ZEN & RDNA.

Would be good if it is true. AMD have a damn good generation of CPU's with Zen.

What I would really like to see is some Zen powered tablets, the current market is woefully lacking good hardware, most of it is 5 years old at least and costs a fortune.

I've seen better fakes for April fool's day. Give me a break.

I think at this point its going to be really difficult to bring a product that's going to come close to what apple has been doing for years....

AMD building ARM processors? I like it! 3.00ghz big ARM cores is nothing to sneeze it. One thing ARM SOCs really suffer with is good graphics. I would be really curious to see what is possible with some radeon APUs inside phones and tablets.

Too bad they aren't focusing their efforts on high-end GPU's instead. That's where the competition is desperately needed atm.

but its *not* based on Zen, its based on ARM architecture.... why did they call this a Ryzen? are they trying to get themselves sued or something?

trolling an adult is very dangerous, don't try it at home nor at work. you don't want to play tag with a rabid man.

Not just a fake, but an obvious one. Come on Techspot. You shouldn't be reporting if ya can't verify.
