I sure hope this ends up being the Titan. Since I don't expect to see a 3080TI under 1K I can just imagine what this will cost. I'm already dreading the exchange rate and taxes

Powering [email protected] with a 1080ti I will more then likely be forced into a 3080/3080ti.

As for naming I don't think there will be a 3090 this is probably just a 3080ti spec thats merely all.

I only hope Nvidia does not jack prices. Even if they launch at same prices as 2000 series Ill already have to bite down hard on the rope while jacket man takes me from behind

I could see new Titan to be successor to Volta Titan, in other words cut-down A100 chip with HBM and dual-precision compute ability. Perhaps this will be their way from now on, for future generations post Ampere.
Meanwhile, 3090 might be just renamed 3080Ti, the replacement for Titan RTX (in other words full-fat GA-102 with double the RAM as regular 3080Ti) or maybe even return of dual-chip card? Either way, its interesting and exciting, cant wait to hear more. The only thing, if its the second option (TitanRTX replacement), i hope they drop the horrible Titan pricing. I would be interested in a card with 2x more VRAM and would be willing to pay say 200, maybe even 300 on top of 3080Ti price, but no way i would pay 2x as much, like Titan RTX did cost.

The Titan RTX the first non-quadro/accelerator card that actually support NVlink memory pooling. I don't see a Geforce card releasing with memory pooling support. There are some programs that utilize peer-to-peer memory addressing on Geforce cards with NVlink but that's more work for the program developer.

i'm really not trying to confuse people here, and was not attempting to insinuate 3090 would be our first taste of failed datacenter MCM GPU chips. Just saying it'll be cool when we eventually see a return of the dual GPU SKU, but instead of dual core, it's MCM.

more likely that would come from the top tier named card, not #'d card.

If they don't have any gpus with 16gbs of vram for a reasonable price then I might just get a console and give up on PC gaming for a while. I'm not spending close to $1000 for a GPU that doesn't even match console specs.

word on the street is gddr6x isn't cheap.

don't let a little sand in the vaseline rub you the wrong way.

kinda seems like that's what they want you to do anyways. Console on the left, mini-PC for everything else on the right. It allows AMD to double dip.

sell you a console, and a ryzen mini-PC.

I told myself I would not buy a card without a vram bump and skipped the 2080ti's because of this. But as games get harder to run I don't think I can hold out for another generation
