So I am trying to help a new business start into E-waste recycling. And along with all the goodies that come from the inside of the computer we are also going to be getting monitors which the interent has labled hazarous.

I already know that the CRT monitors have the tube and will be difficult to get rid of those components without paying a charge for their removal. But my question is what about lcd screens?

Everything that I have looked at on the internet has said they have hazardous material in them, but not exactly what it is.

I am just curious if anyone knows what their local company actually does with them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Off the top of my head - CCFL - mercury, halogen or lead...
