UPDATE 04/22 you can get this monitor for $599 + tax in US. NO NEED TO PAY MORE.

UPDATE: 04/16 if you want to buy this monitor buy it from newegg, amazon or NCIX that way you will have no issues with warranty.

First seller of this monitor arrived from Korea.

IMy recommendation wait for Newegg to stock it themselves. It's a 3rd party seller from Korea not newegg.com. Ebay has it cheaper at $754 do some googling for Samsung U28D590D

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2RY1DK9756

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IEZGWI2/

This will hopefully bring 1440p monitors down in price too.
Can't believe this is coming out already at 1 ms amazing thumb.gif
60 Hz though, but then again i don't think you can even hit 120FPS on 4k even with 4 GPU biggrin.gif

It's TN panel NOT IPS. Ebay is cheaper I see $754 from Korea free shipping Hmm not sure how much difference there would be between TN and IPS at 4K.
It shows TN panel with 10bit color.

by next year i expect this monitor to go for less than $500. Can't wait might buy it in a year to replace my 1080p biggrin.gif
By then we will probably see new AMD and NVIDIA GPU's to hande 4K like a boss thumb.gif

Keep in mind that this monitor doesn't have VESA mounting holes, so you are out of luck if you want to mount this onto a stand worth a darn.

I hate fanboys/fangirls. You ruin the friendlyshilling atmosphere of OCN./s

This should be released in mid April at $699.99 in the US officially. Hoping for a UK release shortly afterwards and a review from yours truly. tongue.gif

They've been on ebay since the last week of February. I discovered it on the 27th and ordered it that morning from top_trading, but it didn't ship for a full week and now is scheduled to arrive Tuesday. Add in the US import duty that I am sure to be charged (I wonder how that even works?), and the price is closer to $800 than the $700 you see on Amazon pre-order.

Well it arrived today. Came with european power cord, but the supply takes 110-240v. No dead or stuck pixels and it looks very good. It does feel like it has a bit more input:rolleyes: lag than my other 2 screens, but it isn't bad by any means.

No idea if I am going to be charged an import fee or tax somehow. The Fedex driver did not require anything but a signature.

How is the color?
Also, do you need AA for games?

In time you find yourself tapping your foot and singing along.
It's like being programed.
