I am still very pleased with this monitor and every time I power on the monitor it is pure joy!

The joy was just suppressed by the absolutely annoying hot-plug Windows/Displayport "feature" which caused the re-sizing and relocation of all my open windows ("Displayport Hot-Plug Detect HDP pin 18") using multiple monitors. After reading lots and lots of postings on many sites, unsuccessfully experimenting with Windows 10 Registry settings, I finally got it working that my 'Extended' Desktop with three monitors is keeping all resolutions no matter if they are switched on or off or even physically disconnected. The issue is not WM related at all. It is a Windows/Displayport issue affecting many people with multiple monitors (and maybe different resolutions).

... I was even close getting my soldering iron out, disconnect DP PIN 18 and connect some voltage to that pin ...
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I have three different monitors with three different resolutions as Extended Display and a AMD Firepro W5100.
- Dell 2407WFP 1920 x 1200
- WM 420UHD (KJT4K2K60DP) 3840 x 2160
- Samsung LN55 1920 x 1080

I achieved this by simply saving the EDID information for each monitor to a file and then doing a EDID Emulation using the saved files as previously posted by Robert Jones (Thanks!) https://sites.google.com/site/ebobster/stuff/displayportblanking

The AMD Firepro Control Center I am using might be slightly different to the Catalyst Control Center, but I assume the EDID Emulation is possible.

1. Select AMD FirePro/EDID Emulation and Accept the license/warning
2. You should see now your AMD graphics adapter with two selections: 'Graphics Card Display Connectors' and 'Display Connections'
3. My three monitors were shown as
'Connection 2 - DisplayPort (Connected : Samsung)
'Connection 3 - DisplayPort (Connected : DELL 2407WFP)
'Connection 4 - DisplayPort (Connected : KJT4K2K60DP)
4. Hover over each monitor entry and save the EDID information to a file with e.g. the file name using the name of the monitor
5. Now click on the "+" sign to add the EDID emulation using the file for each monitor you just saved
6. Do this for all your connected monitors
7. Finally tick the check box for 'Force EDID Emulation' and Apply the settings

After this my windows were no longer re-sized after a monitor power cycle or sleep/wakeup.
I think this solution might even make my previous posting making Windows Registry modifications obsolete.
I am using the latest AMD Firepro driver package 15.20.1045-..... with FirePro Control Center 2015.0622.2137.37044

I don't even own this monitor, yet? But I can say I have been on both ends (experiencing & solving) situations of the frustration you describe above in many scenario's ... and it is a godsend when people share their troubleshooting results / fixes! wink.gif

be advised they won't fix it, they'll simply pay you off if it's unusable.

spypet or anyone else: I am not able to figure out how to purchase a SquareTrade warranty on this monitor through Ebay. Can anyone help me?

The main page for SquareTrade warranties on Ebay says that you will have the option to buy at checkout, but I did not. It also has a field where you can input the Ebay item number and it will search for a warranty on applicable items, but when I put in the item number, I got no search results. Finally, it says that you also have the option of buying a warranty even after purchase through your confirmation e-mail or the purchase history page, but I couldn't find a way to do this, either. Has anyone purchased a ST warranty on this monitor through Ebay? If it matters, I bought mine from green-sum.

Could I just buy one from the ST homepage? Any help would be appreciated.

I've had mine for about a week now, and I love it!

natto, buy this tv plan within 30 days of uhd420 purchase;
http://www.ebay.com/itm//270826537792
when you claim it online, enter the ebay number of the uhd420 you bought.
that's it.
you are covered for the full invoice value of the ebay purchase
should your uhd420 be beyond repair for the next 3 years.

Many thanks, spypet! Worked like a charm, and it's nice to have a bit more peace of mind with my new monitor.

Can they be relied upon?

SquareTrade is best for catastrophic defects, not minor ones that a manufacturer might swap out with a reconditioned unit.
should they determine the item is unusable, they reimburse your purchase price so you can buy a new or it's near equivalent.

I do not believe there are any 434K owners on this board.

434K owner here.

This is my third Crossover Perfect Pixel monitor I have owned since July. Previously owned 2 404Ks. Both ended up back to back with several dead pixels. Green-Sum's PP policy back then was ZERO dead pixels, which now has changed to up to 3. If you want to read more on this and Green-Sums EXCELLENT customer service, check out post 2096.

As far as my 434K, it's a beautifully monitor. Definitely makes you feel immersed in games! However, shortly after receiving it, I have experienced a blinking/flickering (see video below). At first, the blinking happened every couple of hours, which made it hard to record a video to send for proof. I actually had to setup my tripod and camcorder to record until the blink happened.

Since then the blinking has progressively gotten worse. I've been in contact with Green-Sum and he is sill providing great service. First, he wanted me to wait as he contacts the manufacture to find out what's going on. Apparently Crossover is aware of the issue and is working on a firmware upgrade. To be honest, I have no idea when this will be released. According to spypet, he doesn't think the update will happen.

With the blinking becoming worse, Green-sum has agreed to exchange my monitor for a pixel perfect UHD420 or another 434K. I'm on the fence about obtaining another Crossover product as three back to back have given me issues.

I just finished reading through all 878 posts! Took me a few days! With that said, my question to all the UHD owners (more specially newer owners within the past week or so), how's the calibration out of the box? I know initially the factory settings were horrible. Does the monitor still have the cheap plastic bezel and the peeling in the corner of the screen?

I'm really unsure of what monitor to get. Do I go for another 434K and hope it doesn't have the flicker, or test out the WM UHD420. I do know I definitely want to continue working with Green-Sum.

If anyone can provide me with their experience or insight I would appreciate! wink.gif

Thanks in advance.

Man, this sucks. Even the UD490 with the M.Star board has the same problem.
