According to their measurements as well as the fact that this monitor comes with Freesync this is THE 144hz 24" TN monitor to buy hands down.

What kind of performance do you need to make that monitor worthwhile? Would a R9 390X be able to make good use of the higher refresh rate?

I have to say I was impressed by Tom's review of this monitor. The monitor seems almost flawless for being a TN. Strange that ViewSonic missed on the gamma though, there's always something.

I just picked up one of these XG2401, for $229 with free shipping on the egg it would have to be complete and utter trash for me to be disappointed in it. My trusty VG236HE is starting to have some very weird issues (yellows turning orange, very poor gamma, etc) that point at the CCFL backlight being about done with life. Hopefully this Viewsonic works nicely for the price.

Yes a 390X would be great for 1080p 144hz, heck you can even go for a 1440p 144hz monitor and still use that card and average at least 60fps in a lot of games with graphical goodies on high. @ 1080p you'll definitely be seeing a lot of games pushing 100fps+ depending on the game/settings you're using.

I see it on Newegg for 249.99, how'd you get another $20 knocked off?

Yeah but the gamma isnt too far off, it averages around 2.4 until 90% where it has a sharp drop that pulls the average lower to 2.3, but its nothing an ICC profile cant fix.

Same i ordered one, unfortunately i had to pay tax so it came out to around $247, but if the monitor is as good as the review shows it'll be worth it

Wonder what panel this has, all the other 144hz TN - including the LG - have the 24.0 inch AUO part, but this one is 23.6''.
Only 120hz TN panel listed on panelook fitting this size is CMO V236H3-PS1 but it has been in production since 2011 and the database hasn't been properly updated for over half a year.
Is it a new unlisted panel then, or did they put in the old one?

edit: just noticed the AUO M240HW01 V8 panel is also from 2011, wow they really use old panels on these monitors

Well I just recieved mine, it looks good, the stand is of very high quality. The menu is easy to use as well. As far as color, I can't comment on it because I can't get Windows to stop using the calibration profile for my old screen which sets the gamma way way too high and everything is all washed out. I can't figure out how to just remove everything and reset back to the default Windows color settings.
