Yeah it's not that bad but seeing I run a triple screen set up the viewing angles would bug me after a couple of minutes so it's a no go for me.

Are Asus going to refresh the MG279Q any time soon?

sucks that the settings on racing mode are screwed up but the new amd drivers added a brightness and contrast option which let me tweak cinema mode to my liking.

Anyone have an idea of where I can purchase the screen itself to replace a broken one?

I don't think you can separately buy the panel but the pixio PX277 uses the same LCD panel and it will work. Your colors might be slightly off afterwards.

EDIT: Never mind they pixio stopped making them. Might try asking Asus if you can buy one but I would guess it will be less to just buy a new monitor.

Well I'm picking one of these up on Friday, I found a good deal on one and I've been wanting to make the 144hz IPS jump. thumb.gif

Edit: And after reading this whole thread I'm not so sure I should make the jump. I'm getting it for only $300 but it's final sale...before I found this deal I was just looking at regular 60hz 1440p monitors.

I have one of these monitors and it is fine. I never read through this thread so I don't know what made you stop thinking about getting one.

for 300$? that's like 40% of what we have to pay for it in Europe. Pick it up, for that kind of laughable amount of money it's worth it even if has some problems with BLB and alike.

So I recently bought a Dell S2716DG and was really unpleased with the color banding, have had asus prior and am really looking into this monitor, however how bad is like IPS glow and is having an IPS panel for games worth it? Also I have a nVidia graphics card and wouldn't be able to use Freesync, is this still a viable choice for 1440p monitor?
