I have to admit, I gave up waiting and just pulled the trigger on a local used X34 for $700. These monitors are taking forever to release.

Why don't you go for the S2716DG, then? Same panel with lighter coating.

Yep....but I knew what I was getting into when I bought it. I get my glossy fix from my C7 OLED and my Gsync Blur Free Goodness from the 8QR.....I wish I could smash them together in the Hadron collider biggrin.gif

Well....I guess I am done with this thread for another 6-9 months mad.gif

I wouldn't be surprised if this release cycle was worse. It was so difficult to get those monitors but I was able to cop 3 for some 144Hz G-Sync Surround madness! biggrin.gif

If this monitor makes it to market this year, I'd be amazed. rolleyes.gif

I remember man I hope this isn't the case!

I love the x34 even at MSRP. That's a pretty great deal.

Yea but only 144hz....the 165hz motion clarity on the PG278QR brings it to near CRT levels and outweighs its heavier AG IMHO

The only way an LCD can get close to CRT motion clarity is with strobing, and strobing on both of those only work up to 120 Hz right?

Yea but I am not a big fan of strobing on TN panels. Gsync 165 with FPS capped @160 is fantastic for FPS and provides "near CRT" clarity. I prefer it over my FW900 nowadays.

Everything else gets played on the OLED 4k thumb.gif
