Any firmware update for the Acer X27 model :-(

Yeah like a really bad song on the radio that the station keeps repeating and repeating.
In time you find yourself tapping your foot and singing along.
It's like being programed.

I somewhat snapped and may or may not have told them to f*ck off in a more or less polite way. Around two weeks later I received another email with that link I posted here.

I don't know if ASUS made the tool "public" by now, and I don't care anymore if they do. I got really tired with ASUS being so silent regarding this tool, FAQ got updated Nov. 2018 I believe. Plus the monitor scene seems very uninspiring to me recently. Sure, PG27UQX, I can see it but it's not enough reason for me to "upgrade". I don't understand the PG349Q release either in 2019, maybe I'm missing the point. I'm out for now in terms of monitors and will be back when OLEDs or equivalents see the light of the day.
Man, it's so frustrating... I sent my PG27UQ back in April to Asus and had to wait one month for the update... I should have waited 1 month and do it myself.
At this point, I thought Asus would never release the firmware to public.

HDR10 is supposed to show a predetermined brightness. For example, if the dev wants this light to be 1000nits, it will show 1000nits.
The reference white (nits) was a weird setting.

I used tftcentral recommended setting and everything was great. Now I can't even look at screen in HDR. It is just too bright.

I do not recommend doing it. I had it done and they sent me a panel with what looked like a red finger print on the screen so I sent it back they sent me another one without the firmware update on it and has dead pixels. This is after spending $100 on shipping btw.

When I start the update it loads until preparing to update, calculating firmware hash and I get the error:

Firmware could not be updated.

Hash Mismatch.

Followed every step, using DP, reset screen to default, disabled overclock, disabled gsync and put it in normal mode, 4k @60hz, closed all programs, no 2nd monitor/ usb device plugged in, onscreen gameplay features deactivated, tried restarting pc.

Also the serial number is 6, so it is qualified for the firmware update, it came from the initial release.

What the hell am I doing wrong?

Using the orignal DP cable?
Other wise it just means that the firmware thats on your screen isnt the firmware its expecting to update from.
