Hi group! I'm a new AW3418DW owner. Have had it about a week. So far I am very happy with it. If I'm being very very picky, it does have some (is it bleed or glow when mostly in the lower left corner). But, it is less obvious in person than it is in pictures. Maybe it is just because I'm middle aged with bad eyesight, but it is not bothering me so far.

However...I do need a new gpu. I am not a heavy gamer at all. My pc is mostly productivity/home office/netflix/etc. The most recent games I've played are mostly Banished and Stardew Valley. But also some Fortnite. So for a new gpu I was tempted to just go with a 2060..again because of my very light gaming. But...should I go 2070 or 2080 instead? Wondering what others are using? I'm still running an i5-2500k and am trying to hold out for Ryzen 3000 later this year, but the gpu (and probably a psu) need to happen sooner.

hello, nice purchase, there a great monitor, mine has a little bleed in the lower corners,im currently using a 1070ti,it does OK,i think a 1080ti would be perfect,i will get a RTX something around xmas this year,,the backlight bleed I get extends about 1 -1/2 inches from the bottom corners,it doesn't bother me a bit,, 2060 only has 6gbs of video memory,i would want the 8gbs,,,

my 2 cents

i have a 1070ti and it does great.. i had a 2500k for 7 years..best cpu ever! finally replaced it with a 9700k @ 5.2 ghz. u can adjust the refresh rate..i wouldnt get a 2k series..u can pick up a 1070ti for around 4 hundred. a 980ti would suffice as well

thanks!

yes, mine has a little bit of bleed especially in the lower left corner but I have to really look for it mostly. I found a used 1080ti on one of the other hardware sites for sale sections and the seller had 3 previous sales of the same card and all 3 buyers said the cards were great, so I'm going for it. And it is EVGA so it should have warranty on it based on the model. It was not used for mining, but it was used for "machine learning"; it was run in a 24/7 environment, but it was an air conditioned server room (63 degrees). So I decided to go for it.

lol. yeah, can't believe my 2500k has lasted so long so well. I had it at 4.5 for a while but currently running it at 4.2. But come summer it looks like I will go for Ryzen 3000 series. At least, that is how I am leaning right now!

In my other response I just mentioned that I found a used 1080ti that I am likely going for, so that should do me. I just hated the price point of the 2080's.
