Nearly a year and half since it's announcement and still silence! I'm thinking a VA panel doing 200hz will be a blur fest? I'm keen to see how the ips LG that JackCY mentioned turns out although I'd prefer a 32" ips/gsync/144hz+ atm.

For some reason my reply wasnt posted so ill just write it again. The pg35vq and the x35 are definetly going to suck as VA, heres a video from x35 showing ghosting,
. Why couldnt them both be IPS ? Im also considering the aw3418dw. 100hz panel with oc to 120. And i read good reviews about AW having LG panels compared to acer and asus using AUO that have ****ty QC. Making it a better choice concerning ips / monitor defections i guess

there will be 5120x1440p 49 inch super ultrawide monitors coming next year or end of this year by samsung 120hz I would rather wait on that to give ultrawide a try 3440x1440 is too low on the resolution side for me

Wow. Interesting. But, this monitor goes a little over the top on both the size and the resolution. We are +- in the same number on pixels , maybe 5-10% lower than 4k, and 120Hz demands a lot of graphic power, to the point where 1 2080ti wont be enough in many cases. So we are out of budget. Secondly 49 inches will take up all the space on my desk. Cool piece of tech and cool monitor, but not what i want or need rn. btw. isnt the 5120x1440 at 49inch PPI almost the same with the 2440x1440 @35 PPI ?

It's "Oh cmon Nvidia", LG doesn't design the Gsync board, Nvidia controls that piece of proprietary crap, it is limiting the input capabilities of all Gsync monitors, obviously on higher bandwidth monitors it probably can't do 144Hz at the required resolution so it's running 100Hz only. If you want 4k 144Hz Gsync... well they made a newer overpriced Gsync just for that with a bloody fan. The old Gsync can't do DP 1.4.
My advice is to avoid Gsync when ever possible.

No way, it was just reviewed: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/lg_34gk950f.htm

Update : After about 4 months with the aw3418dw im utterly happy and pleased with my purchase. Normal daily work is amazing and comfortable due to the nice resolution and screen real estate, and gaming is exquisite as well. Whenever i sit on a 1080p 60hz monitor for some reason i almost get a concussion and definitely cant game on that. I think this was the sweet spot between high refresh rate and screen size. I would have regreted getting an ultra ultra wide with lower refresh rate and would have also regretted non ultrawide for the sake of just 144hz . The panel has some blb on the bottom corners but in the past 4 months not even once has it been a problem and is almost never visible. Its visible only on a completely black screen image. No other problems at all, apart from some vertical flickering that i noticed recently and is also mentioned in the tft central review. Its mainly a problem of the gsync and the non stable refresh rate. But its incredibly hard to notice and you shouldn't worry about that in case you are interested on the monitor.

Thanks everyone for the help, although my update on this thread is really late.
