Asus VG279Q - first 1080p 144hz IPS

https://www.asus.com/Monitors/VG279Q/

This just came out. As I understand This is the first high refresh rate IPS that is 1080p in resolution. We asked for this.... 4 years ago?
It supports 120hz strobing and freesync. The stand is adjustable in all directions and it generally seems very nice but isn't it too late? Also, I think it's 6bit + frc

The pricing is also very weird. It costs exactly the same as:
-4k 60hz freesync monitors like LG 27uk600
-New 1440p 144hz Acer Nitro VG270UP. Also comes in with strobing modes and freesync
(I listed these screens as freesync representative of best monitor for each resolution at 27")

Way too expensive for what it is. I love my IPS panel but if I was in the market for a non-TN 1080p 144hz panel I'd grab a VA 24HC1QR for $149 instead of that for $330.

Assuming you're talking about the 24HC1QR? It's a steal for the price, the only thing I don't like about it is the curve since it's only a 16:9 but aside from that it looks solid.

Thanks for the reply! What does the aspect ratio have to do with the curve? I didn't even realize that it had a curve. Might be a deal breaker. Any other suggestions? Maybe suggest me the best monitor I can buy from Best Buy. I currently have a gift card I need to get rid of

Darn. Just noticed that the deal is dead!

Just personal preference, really. I think a curve on 16:9 is kind of silly since it's gonna be such a shallow curve it's barely going to be noticeable and not do anything aside from make straight lines harder to draw in Photoshop

The MSI Optix MAG240VC is a VA/144hz/1080p panel and it's $169 at Best Buy.

Just saw the MSI for $169. Should be the same panel right? Any reason why you would think the Aopen is a better monitor?

More than likely they use the same panel. Just going by advertised specs and reviews on both (they're both seem plenty fine) the Aopen was better because it was cheaper It's back up to $220 so that's not really the case anymore.
