Forget the LG C9! It's all about the alienware baby!
Good to know! So it all comes down to the price difference.

AMD didn't brag about HDMI 2.1 on VII, and Turing doesn't have it either. Good chance we're looking at 2020 until HDMI 2.1 pops up in graphics cards unless NV does something late 2019 or Navi has it. Looks like the Alienware is shaping up to be the one to get if you want 4k 120hz and oled in 2019.

Lol. Dell probably needs to figure out the ABL first, doesn't have dolby vision, hlg, technicolor. C9 will have 13ms inputlag. And the chance is that dell prices this monitor 2000+ is very high imo. Also I don't think they will have a dynamic tonemapping function for example. Which makes HDR movies look alot better.

Yes the Alienware OLED is shaping up to be THE gaming monitor to have when it releases.

I want this, but it means new GPU too as I'm fairly sure my 980ti will choke to death on it. How do I convince the wife to........or maybe how do I get it in the house without her even knowing and hide the old plasma........

And of course a new GPU at the same time hah

True. For me personally, I run my displays at relatively low brightness to begin with (120 nits) so ABL isn't an issue for me. Also not into HDR right now so all that Dolby Vision, HLG, etc etc don't really care for either since 99% of the content I'll be displaying will be SDR content. And for SDR content, this monitor is going to be hands down the best.

Your 980 Ti lacks both DP1.4 and HDMI 2.1 so 120Hz is already out of the question on that GPU.

Yup, I realized that when I started looking up benchmarks. Just a good excuse to upgrade my GPU.

Squaretrade warranty ? Yeah I plan on putting a warranty like that on the alienware 55 inch when we can buy it this year. Hdmi 2.1 and DP 1.4 all on one huge display its Heaven

now if they could make one around 40" for workstation use that would be a godsend, but i guess 40" oled panels arnt really a thing since its too small for tvs.
