Alienware 55" 4K/120Hz OLED Monitor with Displayport 1.4

Alienware's 55-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor is pure eye candy

Now Dell is getting into big screen gaming displays.

^Nah it's officially a monitor because it has DP input. j/k, a couple or so TVs have DP too. But I know it's a monitor, right? Can't wait to read about the IQ compared to Samsung & other brands from the forum users.

Ya I'm in the same dilemma. DP 1.4 doesn't have enough bandwidth to do full 4K/120 10-bit RGB HDR and HDMI 2.1 does. HDMI 2.1 will also be more future proof since it has 50% more bandwidth.

The C9 comes out sooner, but will be able to use HDMI 2.1 VRR later due to GPU restrictions.

Alienware comes out later but can use current GPU's for VRR. But the Alienware may have slightly less input lag and maybe more gamer oriented features...

I think I am leaning towards the C9 though...

hm will be hard to decide this or the LG C9 the price might be the overall deciding factor for me in this. I just know I am not paying $5000 for A BFGD and its only VA lol.

This panel can only have one advantage over the C9 and that is rolling scan. But the chance of dell putting this in this screen is slim.

Looks like Alienware is about to do a redesign to the entire lineup. The new OLED TV and the new Area 51m laptop distinctly share the same redesign language but looks quite different than the rest of the original lineup. I'm not really liking the new look even though it looks more "clean" as I feel the unique looks of Alienware are the only thing that separates itself from the rest of the competition (sure as hell isn't the hardware, because everything Alienware uses is complete made-in-China OEM garbage).

It'd be nice if this has an OC to 144hz as well.
