Acer ED242QR Abidpx Black 24" 144Hz (Update: Issues!)

Just purchased this monitor. I'm coming from a very nice 27" BenQ 1440p (EW2770QZ).

I really liked the BenQ but it was 1440P 60hz, and refurbished ontop of that. It had some really bad light bleed and wanted to get back to a 144hz monitor. I specifically picked this one because it is a VA panel, and I really like the color and contrast of the VA panels.

Newegg had the Acer on sale for $149 so I sold my BenQ and grabbed the Acer.

I have looked all around for a legitimate review of this monitor but I cant find anything, so after I have it for a while I will see about writing a review for it.

(Update 2/26/19)

I got the monitor and have been using it for a while now.

The good so far

The refresh rate is awesome, the image clarity is great and so are the colors.

The not so good

There is a little ghosting on the darkest UFO test, I have upped the pixel overdrive setting to extreme and it made no difference.

I miss my 1440p real estate!

The bad

Currently my Acer is having issues that are deal breakers and if I cant get it fixed I will return it.

When the monitor goes to sleep the resolution gets set to something like 480p and all of my desktop icons get shoved to the upper left part of my screen.

While my monitor is sleeping it will constantly disconnect and reconnect, that wont allow my computer to sleep. I can hear the chime go off every 5 to 10 seconds as it disconnects and reconnects.

I have never had a single issue with any of my old monitors, and I don't have this issue with my backup monitors.

Shipping label printed and back it goes. . . .

I continue to have issues when it sleeps, and I have tried things suggested on Acers forum that did not help.

One of the things suggested was update the display driver to a monitor specific driver and now I have a BSOD every once in a while. . . .

My next attempt is a AOC C24G1
