LG 34UM95 Killing AC Adapters?

So I have a LG 34UM95, and I noticed it was having random on screen glitches when I would wake my computer from sleep. Fast forward a little while I came home from vacation and went to boot up my PC and noticed the monitor wouldn't turn on, and the standby LED wasn't lit.
I bought a new OEM ac adapter off eBay, and a brand new surge protecting power bar for double redundancy.

The monitor worked for a few days but the same thing happened again (I didn't see the glitch this time, but went to turn it on one day and just wouldn't power up)
Is it possible the monitor itself needs some sort of repair? or has anyone heard of or had this happen to them?
All help is appreciated.

Is the monitor the only thing plugged into the surge protector? Was anything else affected besides the monitor?

Everything is plugged into the same bar. including 2 other monitors but they weren't affected.
I'm going out on a limb and wondering if having the monitor vesa mounted could effect it? (screws maybe too long) I dunno.
Otherwise I'm assuming maybe some capacitors inside the monitor are shot, but I'm not sure I wan't to try and open it to see lol
