60Hz to 144Hz what to expect ?

Next week a Dell S2719dgf will arrive, so far I've never tried +60Hz (besides whatever my old CRTs did)

I webbrowse a lot, the monitor better work at that. I will still die a lot in BF1/V and SWBF2, for sure.

Expect it to feel like a GPU upgrade given you can drive 144hz. When I got my first 144hz label it felt like I bought a new GPU. Everything was mother, clearer and I was able to react and see my enemies faster in first person games. You will love it. Enjoy! Welcome to the 144hz world. You will never be able to go back.

Overrated. Keep your 1080p 60Hz where a reasonable card like a RX 580 will feel like a 2080Ti on a 1440p 144Hz.

Otherwise, big difference would be like going from a TN to an IPS monitor where colors pop.

I have no idea what did you mean by this.

Overclocking my monitor from 60 to 80Hz made me grate my teeth anytime I'm forced to do anything on a 60Hz screen, it's just slideshow now. Even mouse cursor on desktop is uncomparably smoother now.

Yes, yes the slideshow and I can't go back memes. Bah...

With the price of GPUs best to go back retroactively to CRTs, I say, of which I still have one. Not sure of it's capabilities, but every scale (probably up to 1200) is native res (our newfangled monitors can't even do that). Sometimes I feel the more we go forward, the more steps we take back.

I have both connected and sitting side by side. One big regret is going to the 1440p 144Hz thinking I'll upgrade my cards soon. It's not happening because of principle and instead my fps is cut in half. So what good is all the extra bling if you don't have the card(s) to push them?
