Just bought ASUS PG279QZ -- Should I have waited for LG 27GL850?

I was due for monitor upgrades and wanted to finally get out of the 60hz space. These Asus seemed to be the best bet for the price, but now wondering if I should have waited for the new LG 27GL850. It appears to be listed cheaper on amazon at $499 for the non HDR model, LG 27GL850-B, and it doesn't say anything about 1ms response either. The BLB on one of my Asus is pretty horrific compared to the other two, so I'm wondering if I should return these and get the LGs. 144Hz is plenty for me. HDR would be nice but not necessary.

This is the model on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL850-B-.../dp/B07TD94TQF

Read a few articles that point to that amazon page, so it must be the same monitor. I don't upgrade monitors that often, so if this LG should have been my purchase, I'd love to know. Looks to have a much wider color gamut as well.

If you didn't win the panel lottery for BLB, then I'd see that as a good chance to try out the new LG panel.

And we also need user reports on the 27GL850 here asap

I'm keeping an eye on this LG NanoIPS monitor. Sounds like the ultimate do-it-all screen. I would like better gaming performance than my current 1080p 60Hz IPS, but I'm not willing to give up too much on color quality for the photo and video work I do.

I agree, the gamut is impressive for a gaming-oriented monitor

I have till the end of the month to return these, and I would really like a decent review before going through the return process on the Asus monitors. I'd rather not do it twice. I thought they were supposed to be available by now.

Edit: just read the above post that they won't be available till October... Sigh, decisions.

I'm eyeing this monitor as well. might be a good chance to retire my decent piece of XB271HU, albeit it will most likely turn into yet another panel lottery, so I'm reluctant to try.

You've ordered it? So we should get some user experiences finally on this monitor.

Yeah, 4 years of waiting for the holy grail competitive panel for the M270, but this is the most likely outcome
