Acer x34P vs Alienware AW3418DW Ultrawides

Curious people opinions between the Acer X34P and the Alienware AW3418DW. I know the x34 and AW3418DW are pretty close. Just wonder if the x34p puts the acer ahead.

AW3418DW is 100Hz native / 120 Hz overclocked - X34 is 60 Hz native / 100 Hz overclocked.

I have had my AW3418DW for over 18 months and I am glad I got it! I have had zero issues!

I think they're basically the same monitor, IIRC. Note the poster above me is talking about the X34, not the X34P that you asked about.

Same panel different implementation. Differences will be very small if not negligible and they would be in the realm of out-of-the-box color/gamma, overdrive modes and input lag. Check reviews if you're that worried but it will probably just come down to which monitor has your preferred aesthetic.

Did a ton of research about this and the AW was the winner, so I got it. I have no regrets. Recently, it was sold for ~ $650 from Dell. I paid $840 and would gladly pay it again.

As others have posted, they are very similar. I went with the Alienware and have been happy with it for almost 2 years. The nice thing with Dell is that they will send you an advanced replacement and you can ship your monitor after receiving the new one. My first AW had really bad IPS glow (about 1/4 of the screen would turn orange) but replacement screen was almost perfect. Paid $1000 for mine and have no regrets to this day. I only wish it was freesync so that I'm not tied to Nvidia GPUs
