Picking up a monitor today at Microcenter, which 1440P 144Hz monitor to get?

Driving up to MC Sharonville today to get a new monitor. Looks like they have a pretty healthy stock at good prices, unlike Amazon.

https://www.microcenter.com/search/s...ortby=pricelow (Make sure to choose the Sharonville location)

So, with that in mind, here's what I want:

2560x1440P
144Hz+
27"+
FreeSync
~$300 + tax

I'm not super big on viewing angles as I'm the only one that will ever look at this monitor and it'll be in front of my face the whole time. It'll be used for basic office work and FPS gaming. Curve sounds neat though I've never used one.

I'm looking at the MSI Optix MAG27CQ or the AOC CQ27G1 as the front runners. Thoughts? My only concern is that they're both VA and my research on VA says the picture is pretty much the best but the response is slower than IPS and TN. Granted... I am absolutely terrible at games. I'm still at the point where I'm trying to blame my slow reactions on my equipment, though.

You should not buy a curved monitor unless you have the chance to sit down a use one for a few hours
It might sound like a nice idea on paper but many ends up hating it so dont buy a curved unless you are sure

As for VA thats the slowest panel type around
Instead of trying to stay at $300 or less you should wait awhile and buy an LG GL83A instead which is around $375 it cost more but its also far better than any of the models you found

you should be buying an IPS if you want the color accuracy, the viewing angle thing is irrelevant for 99% of people using a desktop monitor too lol

Good note about the curve... I'll have to look into that!

Unfortunately waiting isn't in the cards. While I'm getting this to be a very capable gaming monitor, my work requires >1080P resolution and my old monitor at home is severely hampering my productivity. Essentially, I have a control center that was not designed to run at 1080 so anytime I need to see stuff I have to scroll all over the place. I've been working from home a lot with all of this COVID stuff.

You don't want the curve. The experience can be quite painful: VA panel is slow af, there can be a lot of gamma shift on the edges, on certain VA panels you can literally notice the pixel grid and it sucks for productivity and the damn taskbar is not straight...

You want to wait for the GL83A or order something like this:

The GL83A is only stating G-Sync capabilities. Does it work with AMD cards as well?

EDIT: Scratch that. While I was going through the checkout process, the delivery date changed from April 2 to April 29th. No thanks. Don't care how good the monitor is, not gonna wait a month for it.

That's a shame. The 83A really is great value. It's hard to find good 1440p monitors for $300, unless they're 60Hz.

They're completely gone from Amazon now anyway. Shows as unavailable. Should have pulled the trigger a few hours ago when it was 3 day delivery.

AOC has both a curved and a non curved VA panel 27 inch 1440P 144hz model
This is the non curved version https://eu.aoc.com/en/gaming-monitors/27g2u-bk

I have the 24 inch 1080P 144hz IPS panel 24G2U and its a great monitor
If you are on such a tight budget have you considered that instead?
