Monitor Upgrade Suggestions

I'm ready for a better monitor, just not sure what direction to go. The PC is used mainly for gaming, and netflix, youtube. I really adore the Idea of a 4k monitor, but I see so many people suggestion otherwise. So do I just go with a 1440p 144hz? I'm a bit worried that my gpu won't be up to par. I guess i'm just looking for some input from my peers here. Thanks in advance!

If you're on 144Hz (Dell S2419HGF), I'd say it's a pretty bad move to go back to 60Hz, even if 4K is better for Netflix.

Better than liking the idea is liking the experience.

I agree, then there's my lack of hardware to push most games to decent frames on 4k...

Depending on the game and the settings a GTX 1070 is still not a bad card
As for 4K forget about that with a GTX 1070 and 60 hz would be a downgrade so if you want a new monitor take a look at the LG Gl850 or the cheaper GL83-A

I feel like both of us should start getting commission from LG.

It's also slower, and the coating appears to be more matte from the pictures I've seen.

These look like great options, but clearly I've picked a horrible time to try and upgrade. There's not much for stock around.

As long as food is in stock you're good these days.

You can check my thread https://www.overclock.net/forum/44-m...r-options.html for a list of monitors and review sites. Considering 2020 situation we are unlikely to see and be able to get new monitors for a while anyway.
