Just a quick monitor question... if you dont mind.

If a monitor has a native res of 3840x1080, but i wanted to play games @ 2560x1080 on it, would the image look terrible or would/will it down scale and look okay?

**Intel System** Asus Z390E Strix / 8700k @ 4.85Ghz / 32GB BDie @ 3200 CL14 / PowerColor 5700XT / eVGA 850w PSU / Sammy 960 EVO m.2 / MX500 250gb games SSD / 49" Samsung UltraWide 144Hz

**Games Only** Asus Maximus Formula XII / i9 10900k @ 5.3GHz / 32gb 4x8GB Patriot Viper DDR4 4400 @ 4133 / 2080Ti / Everything watercooled using Dual Loops and many 420mm rads

if you disabled scaling it'd look as good as native, just with black bars. could run the game windowed and it'd look fine too. if you're going to run full screen at non native then it'd look pretty crap.

awesome, appreciate it sir.. only asking cause I was thinking about buying another ROG Strix XG49VQ, but maybe ill keep searching for a 35-43" gaming 144hz panel for 800 or less... just dont know whats good anymore as I havent followed monitors in a hot minute. I just love this 49" ultra ultra wide tho, mega tasking is a breeze on it

not sure where it is in the AMD control panel, just make sure you actually set it to not scale manually. if you don't change it it'll just scale and it'll be blurry.

most people just use windowed through, same idea but just the desktop instead of black bars but some games (like GTA V) have a performance hit by playing in windowed where full screen + black bars won't.

I would run no scaling. But considering this is probably some curved Samsung VA, I would not buy it in the first place

i guess im not as picky as most, cause i find this monitor to be the best purchase ive ever made. Love the resolution of it, and the shear size is amazing.
