4K 120 FPS Over HDMI LG OLED TV's Nvidia GPU

EDIT:I guess I should say this ,Thanks for the reply's and I know you are trying to help out and are correct. I made the video with a 2560x1440 resolution, said sharing for fun . I am wondering do you think I am trying to trick people into believing that this is actual 120Hz on a Nvidia GPU thru HDMI without a proper adaptor DP 1.4 to 2.1HDMI or proper GPU capable of such bandwidth. Also the adaptor can not do 120Hz HDR/G-sync

Internet is serious lol

Sharing settings for those who would like to try out 4k 120 for fun,I just grabbed the settings of the net.No Nvidia Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) needed
https://postimg.cc/qNbNFJy7
https://postimg.cc/tsC1DZ1f

You will need a proper HDMI cable and capable 4k 120 TV ,not sure if Variable Refresh Rate is working or just V-sync

1.No G-sync in game unless you turn off exclusive fullscreen. Then you would lose the 120 FPS and back to 60 FPS.

2.Nvidia control panel enable G-sync and V-sync for the 120FPS

3.Setup custom resolution the same as in the video in the Nvidia control panel

4.Tested on Steam games exclusive fullscreen, may not work with XBOX Game Pass
Games tested in video
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider
Sleeping Dogs
Bioshock Remastered

Quick compare video

Lol the CX doesn't need any sort of tricks. 4k120Hz with gsync just works out of the box assuming you have a 20 series gpu from nvidia. And gsync works in fullscreen and windowed mode. Of course the current drawback is 4:2:0 chroma subsampling but that's hardly noticeable in games and in a few months the 30 series should enable 444 at 120Hz.

So you saying my 65 LG B9 is inferior ,hangs head in shame. I guess someone could always buy Displayport 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Adapter or wait for GPU's that can actually do 4K HDR 120

Hey man I never said that lol! Just saying that the CX doesn't need any sort of work arounds to get 4k120Hz going. Perhaps change the title to include just the 2019 Series and older sets I guess? If this trick even works on the B8 and lower that is.

You are not getting a 4K signal doing this, you are getting a 2560x1440 signal.

With your LG remote, go to "all settings" -> "Channels" -> highlight "Channel Tuning" and on the remote continuously press 1. A new "Host Diagnostics" window will pop up. Under HDMI, it will not show 3840x2160 at 120 Hz. That is the actual signal that you want. By making a custom resolution timing of 2560x1440 with a resolution of 3840x2160, all you are doing is artificially making a DSR like 4K signal fitting into a 1440p signal to the TV. Won't look nearly as clear as real 4K.

GPU: TITAN RTX - 2175 MHz, liquid cooled
CPU: 9900K 5.4 GHz, liquid cooled
MB: ASUS Maximus XI Gene
RAM: G.Skill 32GB 4000 MHz Samsung B-Die
SSD: Intel Optane 905P - 960GB

Well considering the title of the thread would lead one to believe that you have enabled 4K 120 hz on your LG OLED, when in fact you have not. You have enabled a 1440p signal to be upscaled to 4k. Which is fine, I rock 75% resolution scaling in a lot of my shooters, so my 1440p gysnc monitor gets the most FPS, but that is not what your title was implying or at least how I read it. So, yeah I can see how it appears click baity to some.
