You wouldn't be saying it quite like that if the Ford was a RS Cosworth (which I'd honestly own over a Ferrari any day, love them cars so bad). :D

Intel chips are good but I think some of you are going a little overboard here. AMD chips are more than good enough for gaming or whatever else. Can't say I've had any issues with them anyway. I never did understand this silly CPU war.

Yes I'm a cheap whore.

For single-GPU gaming they're just as good. Throw in some SLI or CF with fast cards and the AMD's will bottleneck in some cases.

all im sayin, is once upon a time, people feared AMD because they were faster and ran hotter

Used to be said that
AMD = Games
Intel = Math

true? who the hell knows - but it was damn certain that same era AMD vs INTEL 6 Years ago, AMD stood ontop in gaming.

was not until Conroe and 775 that Intel reclaimed it all back

Really depends, I recently went from a PII x4 965 to a i5-2500k and it is much faster, My boot time increased by ~50% as well as loading programs, my FPS in games saw a slight increase but nothing completely noticeable. Was it worth the $250 that i spent on a CPU + mobo? probably not, but I am selling my old stuff to a friend with my old GPU and some extra RAM for ~$200. So was it worth the extra $50 on the upgrade? that is all based on an opinion. I would say yes. Especially if I am SLiing my GTX 570s in the future. I am still undecided on that.

Just deleted quite a few off topic posts... please try to keep the discussion about chips, not cars.
