I don't know about the PCIe 2.0 slot.

I have read on the internet so it must be true, that you can put anPCIe to M.2 adapter in the second SLI PCIe graphics slot and it will boot.

Below is the adapter that is supposed to work, and I believe I read (can't find right now) this worked on the same Mobo I have, Z97X gaming 5.

I have trouble overclocking my RAM kit G.SKILL Ripjaws Z 16gb, 4x4, 2400mhz ddr3, using gigabyte z97x gaming 7 MB.

Tried the guide and had no luck even at minimal BLCK bump. This is the best I got from it besides no marginal speed increase. Original timings were 10-12-12-31
Any suggestions what maybe wrong?

Also MaxxMEM results

Guys

Apologies for the unrelated question I recently overclocked my PC using this guide
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=up0sZl26ei4 I did exactly the same thing except I changed mine to 4.5ghz with 1.22vcore

Everything is ok apart from higher idle temps

is there a way I can improve my overclock is the guide on this forum better than the one I used?

Thanks in advance for your advice

Welcome.

You can start by adding all your computer parts to your sig. Rigbuilder is a good way. That way everyone wont have ask all the questions about what you are running. Include as much detail as you can because MoBo, cooling, memory, PSU, etc will all become a factor at some point.

Next, full screenshots of your system running under stress with HWiNFO64 etc. page back through this thread to see what others are posting to get an idea of what helps.

Can anyone tell me why I can't overclock my 4790K? If I select 45 multiplier, it will still give me 4400MHz in CPU-Z and HWMonitor...?
