Booted my computer up in the morning got a cpu high voltage warning in BIOS. Don't know why so I rebooted no BIOS no boot.......dead! Notice the Red vga led was staying on so I bought a new board hoping maybe it was that. No BIOS on boot up so my guess is the CPU is fried. Don't know why but it ran fine the night before.

This is how I feel.....sadsmiley.gif

System in sig.

Wow sorry to hear, were you doing any extreme overclocking? or did it just fail on its own?

Damn. There goes a $900 cpu. On the plus side, I heard Intel's RMA process is good.

I just read that some people had the same problem with their ASUS boards. ASUS uses a custom socket for overclocking the 2011-3 so I don't know if Intel will RMA this.

They don't need to know that it was OC'd and they don't need to know what board you were using.

It does actually, but they don't need to know you had it activated(if you even did?). Also don't tell them you had it overclocked or it will be denied.

We were told that the rumor is false on all accounts and that the CPU's warranty will only be void if you violate Intel's warranty terms, which despite varying by region, will not be void when using the Asus OC socket as long as you do not activate it.
