F03 proved to be terrible on Z97X Gaming 5 too, MPower has 20, which doesn't seem to differ from 17.

Yeah those Mpower boards are super nice because of the overkill vrm.

140-165W and 48C on the back of the board xd.

Overall the CPU stopped at 40x core, 36x cache (33x originally on Z97X) and 1300MHz iGPU (versus 1150MHz). Now I'm squeezing memory but I'm sooo overwhelmed by tune possibilities I don't even know where to begin.

So big update, I got the modded bios loaded on there no issue, currently running μcode 20 (up from 10 on the latest F5 bios) and everything seems to work, i disabled turbo boost and set it manual to 4.2GHz with 1.275v and it seems to work as it stays at 4.2 under all core load. Also set L4 to x20. RAM still works at 2400MHz with XMP loaded, might try to dial in a uncore overclock,

Had a few issues with Xubuntu but I think i’ve ironed them out. Also my chip used to be stable at 4.2GHz 1.25v and now it needs 1.275v (maybe more) so its either degraded slightly or it was never stable at 4.2GHz 1.25v, I couldn’t tell you which because there were only very short times where I had ran it at that speed and voltage and that was also in windows and not linux.

I collect some information about top performance of 5775C, 4980HQ, 5950HQ.

3DMark top resultatien.
FireStrike
4980HQ - 13158 - 4634MHz 5775C - 15062 - 4504MHz 5950HQ - 14522 - 4376MHz
FireStrike Extreme
4980HQ - 13144 - 4599MHz 5775C - 14926 - 44498MHz 5950HQ - 14181 - 4390MHz
FireStrike Ultra
4980HQ - 13122 - 4626MHz 5775C - 14978 - 4498MHz 5950HQ - 13254 - 4190MHz
TimeSpy
4980HQ - 5249 - 4673MHz 5775C - 5346 - 4498MHz 5950HQ - 5161 - 4399MHz
TimeSpy Extreme
4980HQ - 2222 - 4626MHz 5775C - 2161 - 4404MHz 5950HQ - 2155 - 4399MHz

And results from CPU-Z maximum Frequence at1-4-8
4980HQ - 5008.5MHz 5775C - 5002MHz 5950HQ - 4026MHz

Higher clock of 4980HQ not take to him domination on Broadwell. Maybe IPC is very important and higher than 5% (Devil Canyon vs Broadwell).

Have you compared RAM settings too?

Z97 MPower update - no RTL or IOL control... at all, at least not when using the iGPU. Setting these to ANY value makes the board instantly fail on North Bridge initialization. Hopefully sticking in an actual GPU fixes this.
