@burntroach - you didn't link any BIOS above, and your PM only said model, please link to the BIOS you want edited, or give the BIOS version so we can edit the correct BIOS you want.

Hi I am having a very hard time trying to get this lga775 to 771 mod to work. I would appreciate it if someone with more knowledge can help me.

> I have a Asus P5QL-PRO motherboard (it appears to be a 65nm board and has a p43 chipset)
> I am trying to get a Xeon E5450 (SLBBM) to work.

According to Aida64 my CPUID revision is (CPUID Revision 00000F65h) I have looked everywhere in the zipped file provided on https://www.delidded.com/lga-771-xeon-microcode/ ,but I can't find it .

I also used the rom provided on this site but it also gave the same problem as all the other attempts.
this is the symptom I turn the pc on ,nothing appears on screen and it then switches off and boots back on it's own but still no picture it then stays on forever and nothing happens.

I would be very gratefull to anyone who can help me

Give this rom a try. I updated all the xeon & socket 775"s to the 2010&2015 date codes.also added 65 nm support back. Also, try booting with just 1 ram stick and using onboard graphics if the board has them if the problem persist. Also ck if the sticker is on the e5450 properly(not blocking a contact pad) and cpu is facing proper direction.

The info you supply doesn't really help to determine if the mod will work on the board. various factors are chipset on the board (P45, P43, P35, P31, P965,G45, G43, G41, G35, G33, G31,nForce 790i, 780i, 740i, 630i,GeForce 9400, 9300 are compatible) Q45, Q43, Q35, Q33,X48, X38 aren't compatible with the 45nm xeon mod. Also you have factors such as cpu voltage and if the board had been limited to dual core cpu's by the OEM,all of that before having to worry if the cpu is supported in the bios. Search the MODEL that the board is installed in along with xeon mod & see if any results turn up.

all the cpu's listed are dual core(doesn't show quad core support)and are all lower power. If you DO decide to try it,then I suggest the e or l series xeon's which require less wattage than the x series. For example the e5450 is an 85w cpu while the x5450 is 120w cpu and both have the same clocks.Edit:I just ran acroos someone in a forum running a q8300 so U may be able to do it.
