i7 7820x Overclocking (trying to)

Hi all,

So, this is the first time I've attempted to OC this processor and this is where I am thus far.

CPU Turbo Mode Frequency: 4500MHZ
AVX: 4000MHZ
AVX512: 3600MHZ
RAM: 3000MHZ
CACHE:2600MHZ

The only things I've changed for this OC is setting CPU Core Ratio to Sync All Cores and setting Core Voltage to 1.15.

I can run Aida, Realbench and OCCT with temps not passing 70.

My worry now is that when I run the FPU stress test in Aida64, the temps jump to the 90's. If I turn up the AVX frequency or up the Vcore it throttles in Aida.

Not really sure what I can do from this point on as the temps are a worry, even though I'm running a custom water loop.

Any input on this would be appreciated.
Thanks

Look into delidding, as you will continue to be thermally limited by the stock TIM even if you have an overkill cooling solution.

I heard about the crappy TIM Intel used and thought I'd be ok with my cooling but obviously not.

I'll have a look into delidding. Thanks

Hi,
Yeah not too tough to delid rockit-99 is 50.us

Not sure how you got odd numbers for avx 3600 ? you can enter as far as I'm aware of 3 or 4
AVX = 3
AVX 512 = 5
Doubt you'd need either until all core 45 is used
You can save heat by using by core usage
Use say 45 on half the listings and 42 or so on the other half.

By spacific core can be tedious but once you see the hot cores just tune them down to a lower multiplier
Coldest to a higher multiplier.

I've used Adaptive voltage -0.001 & turbo -0.195 with okay temps with various core clocks
Also -0.080 and -0.195 with pretty good results too with various core clocks.
