Gigabyte Z390Aorus Pro Wifi
AVX offset - none
manual Vcore 1.275
VR VOUT : 1.191 (min) - 1.254 (max) during 30 min Prime95 run
2 cores reached 91-92 C, while the remainder maxed in the 80s
I have pretty good airflow, even though it's a mid tower (i'm a minimalist, nonRGB guy so i kept my fractal design define R4). Six 140 mm case fans. 2 in the front (intake), 2 on the ceiling (exhaust), 1 rear (exhaust), 1 side panel window over the GPU (intake -- basically blowing on the GPU). During OC stressing, I have the case front door open and the cage cover open, but the dust filter in place. All case fans set to Full speed. The noctua cooler is arranged with 2 fans in a front to back airflow orientation with a steep fan curve applied, maxing the fans by 60 C.
During initial gaming test (1 hour), the temps were ok, but those two cores did creep into the 60-62 C range while all the other cores remained in the high 40s-50s.
My impression is that the temps are a little high for that voltage and cooling solution. I feel like the chip is good and able to hit 5 ghz without much voltage, but I'm disappointed that my cooling isn't better. Am I wrong? Should I expect better temps given my cooling and a voltage of 1.275V?
Do i need to adjust the VCCIO, VCCSA setting?
Thanks for your input!
