Copper IHS

I have a dumb question, I have never delidded a cpu, so my first one I want to send to Silicon Lottery for the delid and binning service. If I order a copper IHS from Rockit cool and send that, would they put the on instead of the stock IHS?

That would be best addressed by emailing [email protected]
Cant very well speak for their policies.
Looking at if from putting myself in their shoes I would probably say I would do it but no warranty is implied. They have their method that gets the IHS pretty much back where it was. Others if you clean off all the adhesive and put nothing or next to nothing back have an IHS that sits lower. Depending on which IHS you bought most are made to offset the lower IHS. With them doing it a certain way 1000s of times I honestly dont know what they may say or do.

Like I said, email and ask. Then you can post back so others will know.

The problem maybe with the z height fit.
When i dellided my 8700k i scrapped all rubber and reapplied a very thin rubber gasket layers, and it fit perfectly. Some people reported that without a greater ammount of rubber they couldnt close the ihs, because the die was taller.

Intel mostly use a bigger ammount of rubber to fit all cpus to ihs considering manufacturing tolerances.
