$41.99 9700k? - Too good to be true or Ebay Mishap.....

Well, found this baby and now I'm curious. From using ebay my whole body is telling me "scam," but have the scammers really gotten sophisticated enough to fake a 100% positive reviews with 317 sells?

Been a while since I've been here so I am sure this is the wrong place.

Anyways, the listing in question:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-...IAAOSwxO9cCaan

I messaged the seller trying to help save their butt if it was an honest mistake. But dang that would be awesome for $42.

Help me weigh in!

Has to be a scam. They are also offering 10+ Ryzen 7 1700s for the same price. My guess is it's a hacked account. There are only a few buyer feedback comments, which tells me something is fishy to have more than 10+ of these in stock as it would seem if you had this many in stock, you'd be a supplier or someone with a little more seller history.

Just take a look at his feedback. Something doesn't add up.

I've seen scams for Vega 64s for $20-30. Check history and they would be selling $1-5 items like button caps with no history of PC hardware. Their reputation would be 100% with hundreds of items sold. Feedback is from the same hand full of people. They sell crap to get the reputation and then scam with big ticket items. Have no idea why eBay is not better regulated. If it's to good to be true...

You'd think they would have a too-good-to-be-true algorithm. Or at least be able to replicate what you came up with in like 2 minutes of research. It is like eBay is slipping back into the 90s lol.

Thats good enough for me. Yall can clean out this thread if it doesn't make sense here.

Thanks OCN team! I'm impressed y'all have stayed so awesome all these years.

I bought a new in box fully functional 7980xe for 900 last year next month. That probably would've fallen into the too good to be true filter.

its a scam, buy it n you'll have your loot back to you in a few days.

you'll see floods of this all the time, specially during holidays.

they tend to hijack accounts in good standing w/ decent trader history, then flood w/ cheep stuff that isn't at all possible.

I guess one in ten make it thru? IDK how else its really profitable.
