Overclocking a 6600K
I am a complete beginner about overclocks and i only just read some info around.
My setup is a 6600K 3.6 ghz, a ASUS Z170-A mobo and a very good big Noctua tower-shaped cooler fan.
Currently I am running with the cpu stock overclock from the EZ TUNER in the bios, it runs at 4200 mhz with 42 multiplier. Temps are very low, below 50 even on load, and the system has never ever crashed.
I would like to squeeze some more power, so I tried to moderately raise the multiplier to 44 but the pc didn't boot at all or booted and then crashed.
I have read that to raise the multiplier you need also to raise the clock speed but I don't know how to do it and how much.
Is that the BCLK? Currently it sits just a little more than 100.00 as per automatic EZ overclocking setting.
Could you guide me step by step to get a stable higher overclock?
Also, what do you suggest as stress test?
I already got Realtemp for temps and CPUZ for monitoring stuff.
