it's an 8 core 32nm CPU running P95, his temps are fine.
IDK man I've only been running a computer repair business for ten+ years and before that I was the manager of the assembly line at a major gaming PC manufacturer where I trained other people to build computers. I've probably only build 1500 computers or so. Do you think that's enough experience? Yea? OK maybe stop measuring ur little prick then.

~84c is high for stock on any CPU. Not so high that it should cause problems, but I wonder if the heatsink and thermal paste were properly installed.

no, it was genuinely funny. your response reminded me of the "I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda" copy pasta.

yea ok, stating my level of experience when directly questioned about it is some kind of crazy response to you. Grow up kid. Don't keep saying more and more off putting things just to have the last word, it's a bad look.

you're aware this side conversation started because I asked you the same question you asked someone else and you got huffy puffy at it, right?

that doesn't sound a little obtuse to you?

Sounds like a capacitor on ur motherboard leaked or something... shouldn't have anything to do with the CPU temp.

Your CPU is running a little hot for stock. Maybe you just need better thermal paste. Also make sure the heatsink and CPU surfaces are clean before putting thermal paste on.

Doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong from anything you've said. How experienced are you with building computers?
ASUS motherboard came with i7-3930K, but I don't plan to use that CPU. I have built about a dozen builds, so I know what I am doing. The only time temps got over 80 was when I overclocked the RAM to 2133 on MSI motherboard which fried.

I didn't come on here asking for help, the OP did. You do realize context matter, do you not?

The OP's level of experience makes a difference for how to best help him, by knowing how much he can do intuitively on his own and how much he needs help with.

Your clearly pretty experienced in being obnoxious so good job bud.

What CPU are you wanting to use? If you are trying to use a motherboard for that platform you could hardly do any better than a 3930k. If you're not trying to use that CPU, whats the point of sticking with this old hardware?

There are a lot of CPUs better than a 3930k for the x79 platform. He said in his original post he has an e5-2687w, its passmark score is higher than the 3930k, its even higher than a 7700k. They're in between an i7 7700k and an i7 8700k for about $110 on ebay. If you can find a good deal on the motherboard, then its totally worth the effort, and its fun.
