Edit: I've tested up to 5.3Ghz in BFV and Cinebench but will do more testing for Realbench and AIDA64 stability. 5.3Ghz with my 280mm AIO will be my limit and I am willing to be the thermals under 100% AVX load are going to skyrocket. That said, these synthetic loads far outstrip my daily usage and gaming needs so 5.3Ghz would be a viable clock for me. I will still likely stick with 5.1Ghz at low voltage as my daily driver.
Damn makes me want to replace my current 9900k.

Very nice voltage!
Could you run the same test but with FPU only? (uncheck the first box)
And I am curious about the level of power draw at this voltage...

I grabbed mine at Newegg at 2am on the 30th. It arrived around 10am on the 31st. Amazon and Best Buy have had them in and out of stock at varying prices since then. Microcenter also has them in stock if you live near one and have been price matching but prices seem very fluid at the moment.

My local shop has TONS of them. Seems like nobody's buying them here.

So far my 9900KS is my typical luck in binning..

My 9900K (July 2019) wouldnt be stable in DCS world at 4.7 All core unless I pumped 1.3 VROUT at turbo LLC. I knew it wasnt my board or RAM becasue a friend's silicon lottery chip from January 2019 was easy 5ghz at 1.25 VROUT.

My 9900KS easily does the 5GHZ claim, but i'm only stable at 1.298v VROUT when blender or realbench are running. Also Turbo LLC.

Maybe I always have bad luck, my 2500K, 4670K, 4790K, 9900K and 9900KS all were 200-400mhz off of what websites and reviews claimed was "easy" to do. Not even off of the "best" benchmarks.

I think the best bin I ever had was 50th percentile.

Use Silicon Lottery next time with your bad luck. I've had two 9900k cpus and a couple 8700ks that OC'd not well at all. Still have the one 9900k for my son at a modest overclock, he don't care! Have to note that when chilled water, the 9900k that I have does well(5400-5500Mhz bench), just not 24/7. The retail 9980xe I have is pretty good. My 1680v2 was and is pretty good too. So lucky sometimes and sometimes not, hits everyone different ways.

I got my i9 9900kf running at 5GHZ all core with AI Optimized Settings. Voltages aren't to bad, highs near 1.32. low around 1.18,

Did manual OC with the KF and got Vcore as low as 1.13 stable under p95 Full AVX Smallest FFT Load Temps hit 100C (hwinfo) and in AI suite from Asus Temps are 89-95C I beleave the ASUS Ai suite over the HWinfo. but yea LLC is at 7 and 170% CPU Current Capability.

def hitting max for the chip but at least in gaming its 55c only. and most tasks don't go over 65c

Around 1.30v for 5Ghz is not good for a 9900KS and even average for a 9900K.
This means Intel binning process for 9900KS is rather loose.
Maybe they just check if the CPU can sustain 5Ghz to rebadge them as KS.
Silicon Lottery still has some work to do with this 9900ks...

hey guys my 9900 ks arrived from new egg.ca

i installed it in my ASUS X Hero Z-370 wifi on latest bios no issues there

set load line calibration = level 6 ( no over shoot or vdrop )
all power limits / core cache limits maxed

manual vcore of 1.28 v @ 5 ghz all core
cache = 4.7 ghz
ram = @ 4000 mhz

1.28v seems to be where im @ my 8700k delided that just came out of my board does 5 ghz @ 1.28 v and 5.1 ghz @ 1.355 v

i literaly got my 8700k with 2 more cores lmao .

sent back or keep ??

i heard the z370 on the 9900k needs more vcore vs say a z-390 of 0.050 v is this true ?

i9-9900 ks @ 5.0 Ghz @ 1.23v - Asus X-Hero Z-370 Wifi - 32 GB Team Group Xtreem @4200 CL-17 - MSi GTX 1080TI FE - 1440p 165 hz G-Sync
