AIDA64 benches are not that great for precise comparisons especially with their limited results.

The rest is all about do you get the clocks you should with no throttling? Is the performance as it should be or how much lower.

Ok Cinebench shows its twice as fast as my CPU so all is well I guess.

I used Aida64 benchmarks and the 1800 Ryzen was beating it in certain tests. Also it was very low on most tests getting beat by even my 4930k CPU. His motherboard is Aorus Elite. *** is going on shouldn't the 9900k be on top not 10th place behind 2700x and all that. Only test it does a good job with is CPU Queen and Ray Tracing its up top. The rest its getting beat by old processors. Is there something were doing wrong ? Is there a BIOS setting I must change ? This is totallly unacceptable imo. I would post a screenie but Im not behind his CPU. It simply loses pretty much all benchmarks to 2700x and even 1800 and 7xxx Intel and what not.

Please tell me were doing something wrong or that the BIOS needs configuring to get that speed, as this is really weird to me.
lol. that boomer got his karma.

Litte offtopic , but what is the program in your screen shot, showing the cpu power graph?

Thanks

Ok. Let's start with the RAM issue. Z390 Gigabytes are excellent for CPU OC. Some, less for RAM. XMP if corresponding to what is written on the sticker, should not fail, unless there is another issue. Depends on RAM rated XMP profile. I have a z390 Aorus Ultra in my son's machine with a 9700k. Would look at his BIOS later, as I don't remember from the top of my head what exactly I have dialed in, but:

1. How many sticks of RAM does your dad have and their location (slots)? If two sticks, A2B2 is recommended. Just had a dude placing his somewhere else (I guess
A1B1 - if not A1A2, which is a disaster) & "suddenly" problem solved in A2B2.

2. Pics of RAM stickers. Both (if 2) or all (if more).

3. Did you check what is the RAM voltage set by the board when enabling XMP?

I am your father?

I have a 9900K and I am trying to dial it in, so I run into similar situation but note my CPU can run 5.2GHz just fine. However doing poorly and a few things I am working on is to have a base to test against myself. Example is; Download Realbench R15, HWiNF64, and OCCT for now.

1.) Reset bios using F5 and save.
2.) Run 2 or 3 R15 test and record your scores plus make sure you have HWiNFO64 Open to record voltages and temps. If by any chance you run into the issue it will not load just launch it as soon as you enter your desktop.

3.) Once you have your test do some manual setup without limitations. Example of those settings put the cpu all cores to x47, set voltage to 1.3v, set cpu LLC level to 5, keep ram at auto or 2133MHz, and test. My understanding is you should be able to get on a 9900K @ 4.7GHz a score of 2000cb.

4.) Also check your Windows 10 Power Plan and choose High Performance or Ultra Performance for High End Systems then restart your pc and test. I have notice that by itself helped my score but is not there yet.

Note I don't know for sure but I was told a stock 9900K should be hitting 2034cb on R15 stock. Hopefully that give you something to work with as a base and temps stay below 90C my monitoring your cpu during test. Good luck anything else I end up finding I will try to share here with you. Intel 9900K cpus are amazing cpus and they work great depending on what you are using it for.

=) I am also learning so hang in there.
