9900k is only fastest gaming CPU @ 1080p

All benchmarks I see for gaming performance comparison between CPU's the resolution is set at 1080p where it falls on the CPU's shoulders and 9900k out performs any processor on the market. However at 1440p and above 4k.. It is pretty much tied with other CPU's in frame rate. Who the heck plays at 1080p its freakin 2020. At 1440p other CPU's perform just as well as the 9900k. So in closing its the fastest gaming CPU at 1080p but tied with other CPU's once you go 1440p or 4k and what not. If you game at 1080p by all means get the 9900k or varients KS and KF.

Why have a fast cpu at all? Just get a slower gpu. Problem solved.

Well, I do. At 144Hz to be precise. GPUs performance rise with each generation so your whole rant is completely dumb when you take in consideration the purpose of CPU tests.

Seems that a lot of people still play at 1080p. I've been @ 1200p for close to 10 years now... might be in a rut.

I also play at not only 1080p, but on a 27" too!
What's with the spam new posts the OP has been doing here?

Because ever since 9900k came out it was touted a gaming CPU. It simply isn't. Games don't need 16 threads workstation apps do. So all the benches I see are showing off the 9900k against others at 1080p and it has way more frame rate. However when I found some 1440p benchmarks the 9900k is pretty much tied with other high end CPU's. The hones falls on the GPU once you go above 1080p. So for 1080p its the fastest but if you have a powerful video card and game at 1440p or higher its not the fastest most amazing gaming CPU as frame rates even out at higher resolution since it falls on the GPU not CPU like a 1080p resolution would.

He's one of the LTT forumers. They do this stuff over there all the time. It's pretty bizarre that an older person would post like a teenager (which is what you expect on forums filled with newbies like LTT, thanks to the youtube presence). Posts like this dude's belong in a rants and raves section. These posts are basically flamebait posts (Can't type the other word here).

A proper post would be something that Enterprise24 (or is it Enterprise18) has been doing; side by side FPS video comparisons between different video cards/cpu's/speeds etc. Those are actually useful because you get (tada) rather interesting data!

He's actually almost my age (I'm 48), which makes it even more bizarre.
By the way whatever happened to that "Surveillance" /drug pusher / hidden camera thread? (you know what I'm talking about). I was enjoying that one...
