Someone on reddit posted a link about the Skylake architecture and it looks like with the 2066 socket, 18 cores is maxed so that chip is either fake or in a larger socket

Besides increasing mesh voltage (or lowering clocks ) are there any other ways of improving mesh overclock stability?

VCCIO might have a small effect on mesh overclock, But I haven't tried pushing my mesh yet. I can run 32 Mesh at 1.120v, VCCIO at 1.1v. It might go lower on the mesh voltage, But I haven't had time to go lower yet.

Yes this is a fake. There is no reason for a 22 core all at 5Ghz out of know where is BS. The 10980XE isn't even out yet and suddenly Intel comes out with this. That is garbage.. Gotta learn not to trust this SOB guy who photoshoped the image and what not. 18 core is just fine for this HEDT. 22 cores lol for what ? They have their Xeon line don't forget that. Their HEDT will be at least for now a 18 core 36 thread monster.

10980xe has been out since last month, several members here received their orders.

I'm debating picking up a R6E Omega mb and 10980xe if I get an upgrade itch soon.

I'm not using XMP. I'm using a bit of manual but mostly auto. The x299 Dark does okay with the timings on auto.

I think I figured out my aida64 Photoworxx issue. In the parameters of the test, I limited it to 10 cores and hyperthreading OFF, and my score became in line with what my system should be. Any more than 10 threads for the parameters of the test, I start taking hits to my score. As people have stated before, this one is all about memory and cache. If you have really fast ram with awesome timings, you're going to score really well.
