Hmm, I cleaned it out when I installed the new cpu. Might as well check again I guess. Are the springs on the heatkiller iv supposed to be completely compressed? Or just tightened as much as I can regardless of compression?

Yeah i got that one as well you were the one that told me to try it out 🙂... My main ones are cb15/for power spikes i accompany that with a mouse app that auto click every 3 seconds which it what it takes to finish the run so i can loop it xD in that way i get power spikes non stop for crash related purposes on adaptive testing and to check for phantom throttling is the best app for that i have found.

Rog bench of course and ramtest and hci for memory and caches.

Hi,
Cache max 30 has been maxing out at 1.1v is that what you see on auto ?
My 7980xe likes 1.105mV for 32x. My 7940x does 31x at 1.12mV the 7820x around the same but 32x

Yesterday i lowered my input to 1.73mV let cb on a loop no phantom throttling. Then i run a 2hr rog bench then throw it again at cb loop still no phantom throttling. Im wondering if adaptive is the solution for phantom throttling vs static on a low input have to try that out later.

Hi,
Well that sort of the thing or flaw
These socket/ cpu surfaces are not flat or parallel so I don't see how anything bottoming out the same on all four posts would work very well

I start out starting all four posts to where they are the same snug with no slack
Mark all of them on the nut
Then give them all the same amount of turns 3 full turns maybe 4 depends on how tight it seems.

EK evo and heatkiller are totally different height blocks on the top of the mounting plates.
Set them sid by side
I did here evo/ optimus/ heatkiller

I power off/on, put on p95 again and it overheats within an hour.
I mess with my cooler a bit and fans, it sits okay at 85 again, but then if I reboot a few times every time I'm overheating until I randomly am not again.
Have you seen any weird behavior with memory related voltages or just power delivery to the CPU with Cascadelake-X? I thought something was wrong with my pump/cooler but I'm thinking maybe I need to do a deep dive on if anything is varying a lot... one thing that concerns me is that system agent voltage can Only use an Offset value and I was thinking maybe that voltage is going crazy on reboots and changing it up a lot.
Are you seeing thermal throttling? At >85C it probably is. Probably best to gauge whether or not the OC is actually improving performance (use a couple of benchmarks). Loop the image editing module in the realbench Benchmark (not the stability test to guage low current performance, and things like blender, R20, x265 do a good job at high current performance assessment (x265 will let you know if vccin is too low).

What is your cooling set up and ambient? I don't know if I'm having mounting issues or my cpu is bad. But everyone seems to be having much better temperatures than I am. I'll update with a SS when I have a chance to.
I'm using a Koolamce ERM-3K3U rad/pump system on this rig. It is on an open bench, not in a case (yet).

goofy vs "normal"... if it applies to your block at all, is the same no matter what position the board is in.

For the record I use the the full test not the short test
Short test is just to see if I die or not testing settings since it's well short
If i don't die I use the full test
I don't usually post the short test results but it does BMW and classroom and well I used to just loop classroom before the blender benchmark open data came out
it's in the pic - see the sticky.
I'm using Y-cruncher for AVX 512 checking where this falls over.
