Well, set it at 1.35, and 5GHz. Runs great for over an hour on Aida64 stability test as well as the Intel extreme tuning utility, but core 6 stops working in Prime95 within seconds. Any reason why? Can I assume that Aida and Intel showing stability is adequate?

Is it the AVX thingie? Should I get a version without the AVX?
Did you end up fixing the Prime95 issue? I also just got an i5 9600kf, and even on stock, core 5 and core 6 tests insta fail due to rounding errors.

My second core is always the first one to show signs off a failed o/c, my problem is my VRM's crapping out over 62c causing instability, i have been trying to find where my instability is for days with the same erros as you (the roundup error), if it's not the vcore or NB frequency, it could possibly be unstable VRM's (as i have just found out on mine), just some food for thought.

You think I can hit 5 with air cooling alone? I think the thermal paste was poorly applied. Plan on re doing it. Using a Coolermaster Hyper 212 cooler.

Lowered the voltage, as well as the clock speed, and used the older version of Prime without the AVX. Now running sub 80C at 4.8GHz at 1.21 volts.

Not an easy task on air, you would need some extreme wind tunnel but not impossible, your temps will be the limiting factor.
