10980XE 4.8Ghz @ 1.31v experts welcome

Here is a legit pic of someone doing 4.8Ghz on their 10980XE they were lucky to recieve. I already read 4.8Ghz is like 5.1Ghz in 9900k. So they will perform same in games give or take a few fps. Bottom point is this a legit OC that can be done by me or you OCNers ? 1.31v and 4.8Ghz stable but a core reaches 93c but its ok as long as it doesn't die screw the temp as long as its stable.

I just got my SL binned 10980XE yesterday. I am still stability testing but it looks like it’ll settle in at 4.8GHZ @ 1.21v which is better than I expected. There was another one posted in the other thread doing 4.8ghz at 1.25v which is good too.

So 4.8ghz @ 1.3v sounds very doable. The bigger issue will be keeping it cool. Even at 1.21v my temps run warmer than I’d prefer but I only have a 280mm AIO. With 1.3v you better have some serious cooling.

Wow congrats....Well Im never going to benchmark it or run a stability test. So 18 cores 36 threads will never be used. Ill be using at max 8 cores maybe 10. I just wanted headroom for the future which is why I choose this over the 9900k a consumer chip and not HEDT. Also PCIe 4.0 is same speed as 3.0 Intel said which is why their not gonna do it for another year or so. Wow 1.21v for 4.8Ghz is superb. Which SiliconLottery Mhz did you choose ?

Also to get a 1.21v 4.8Ghz is going to be the lottery as I won't be getting it from SL .. I hate to spend more then 1000 dollars on this CPU and what not.

this cpu is beyond 9900k temps lol 9900k is a puppy compared to this beast. You can pull 400-500w easy as hell on one of this if you dont watch it

A REP for both of you. The SL 1800 dollar chip wow. If I payed that mutch 5GB would have to be the minium and I think you can do it with voltage at 1.30v if not below that voltage perhaps since its a heavily binned chip. Set it to that and forget it. Enjoy your CPU my friend.
