you can play with BCLK to get a few extra mhz if you can't bump up the multiplier, MCE don't kick in and block above 103 unless you have a non-K CPU. I can run well over 200 BCLK on my Taichi. Might not get you 5.6 but might get you 5550mhz. Just watch the RAM speed because it'll go up with BCLK.
Thanks I will have to play with that next. I guess the z390 dark doesn’t run 100bclk so I will tinker there next ty! Was able to put 1.295V vcore and set llc a little higher to pass cinebench @ 5.5. In hwinfo it said max vcore was 1.33 though and VID was 1.242 though. I don’t understand the low vid. I’m too much of a chicken to add more vcore at the moment, in case someone wants it or it goes into another machine etc. Pretty fun though!

I've got a 5.3 CPU validation in my sig and an HWBOT account full of OCs that aren't stable but it doesn't sound like what the OP is chasing, but here's my thoughts on stress tests since you seem to want them for whatever reason. Last time I ran Prime95 on my 4690K.

sounds like he's replacing his 9700K with a 9900K and the 9700K is either going to set on a shelf or it's going to be sold, and the former sounds kinda dumb because while it may be impressive it's still no unicorn.
I didn't want to see your testing. That wasn't a problem.
He's on an eVGA Dark anyway. I expect godly overclocks on that board (and on the Apex). I just wish the Dark had more BIOS options...Asus literally puts everyone else to shame with their RAM options as you well know

5.5 is excellent on ambient cooling at that voltage for a 9700K.

As far as voltage, don't be scared to turn it up My 9900K has seen 1.8v with extreme cooling, 1.65v running prime95 for hours on the chiller, without noticeable degradation. They are tougher than people think, I haven't heard of anyone managing to kill one. At least, not on this forum. I have the Z390 Dark as well, now running 5.4 no HT at 1.5v ambient water cooled. It is stable running p95 smallFFT noAVX with temps in the mid 80s. I would recommend trying increased clocks/voltage on yours til cinebench hits temps of ~80c max. Now I'm not recommending you put 1.8v in it, but trust me, it won't explode at 1.45 lol. One thing about the Dark, it seems to allow more vdroop than other Z390 boards. Mine drops to 1.45 or 1.46v under load.

Would be interesting to see how far the chip can go on ambient. +1 for a bit more voltage.. 1.33 is nothing, even Pook would go higher and he has silicone implants

what are load temps like at 1.35v under water on these CPUs? would that be possible for 24/7?

I can bench my 9900K up to 1.4v and maybe a bit higher now that ambients are lower but it's basically pegged @ 100c the entire time. 24/7 I can't really get away with much more than 1.3v.

1.35v should be coolable with AIO or custom water, for 24/7 stable use
