i5 6600 Non-K overclocking

Hi guys, I recently acquired a Gigabyte RTX 2070 and I am experiencing some serious bottle-necking issues because of my core i5 6600. I planned to get a better CPU but in the mean time I would like to overclock my actual cpu to get the best he can offer to me. I heard that the Non-K CPUs of the skylake generation can be overclocked by increasing the BCLK. I tried to increase mine and got my CPU running with a 102.500Mhz BLCK. Pushing the BCLK higher, even when pushing the Core Voltage higher too, did nothing but prevent the PC from booting. I already tried to tweak some options like disabling The CPU turbo, disabling or enabling CPU SVID support or synching all cores. Also tried to disable C-state stuff and set CPU LLC to level 5/7.

the core i5 6600 has a stock speed of 3,30Ghz an can turbo up to 3,60Ghz, do you guys think I can push my CPU to 4Ghz ? Can somebody help me in order to overclock a bit more my CPU ?

Let me know if you need more informations.

Thanks and have a nice day ! ????

the tutorial that I followed :

My specs :

Core i5 6600

Asus Z170 PRO GAMING

Gigabyte RTX 2070 WF

4x4 Gb Corsair 2100Mhz XMP RAM (currently running at 2323 Mhz)

Lepa 700W PSU

you need the specific BIOS to BCLK OC. der8auer had a page with a repository of all the BIOSes for every Z170 board but it got taken down over a year ago and none of the board manufacturers host them on their site from pressure from Intel, so good luck finding it now if you don't already have it.

Intel i9 9900K Coffee Lake @ X8 5309mhz (+47.5%)
AMD FX-8320 Vishera @ X4 5022mhz (+43.5%)
Intel i5 4690K Haswell @ X4 5013mhz (+43.2%)
AMD X4 960T Zosma @ X6 4870mhz (+62.3%)
Intel i7 6700 Skylake @ X4 4709mhz (+38.5%)
Intel i5 6400 Skylake @ X4 4588mhz (+69.9%)

You should be able to go much higher than 4Ghz, anywhere from 4.4-4.6 Ghz at reasonable voltages should be doable.

But you do need the right BIOS, hopefully you didn't update the BIOS yet as downgrading is a whole different can of worms.

I found an allegedly suitable bios, but DOWNLOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK: http://www.mediafire.com/file/w2svrc...-1301.zip/file

Hey, so I just got my hands on the non k oc bios, the BIOS seems to be the 1301 version of the mobo BIOS. Is this old BIOS version stable ? I know that first BIOS versions on ASUS mobo can sometimes be glitchy ...
Btw I tried to flash the CAP file with EZ flash but it keeps telling me that the CAP file is not a proper BIOS file ( no ez downgrade with this z170 mobo), so I think I might flash my BIOS with AFUDOS.exe on a DOS bootable USB.
