9900k won't drop voltage on idle (SOLVED)

I've been trying to finalize my 24/7 OC on this build and have found some very stable settings at 5 and 5.1 ghz with the ram at 4133... I was wanting to change it from manual voltage to adaptive to allow the voltage and speed to downclock at idle....

The clocks have no problem dropping like normal, but no matter what I do, the voltage is stuck...

I've searched and tried everything I can find over the past couple days with no luck....

All C states enabled, speedstep enabled, speedshift, etc.... Set power mode to balanced in windows and the clocks drop on idle but not voltage...

Any ideas? I've even cleared CMOS and started everything over, but no luck...

Are you talking about where you set what kind of voltage you want to use? I have that set as adaptive... but still no luck..

Or is there some other setting that needs to be set to make it work?

Does the voltage and frequency drop during system idle when the BIOS is set to complete stock values?

Great question, and I was thinking about this today... After I cleared CMOS, I put in a few settings right away trying to go right to adaptive... Only changing the voltage to adaptive and setting my RAM timings... But I didn't actually boot with everything totally cleared... That's something I probably should have tried......

I'm not sure if it's vendor specific, my Taichi only works in offset and base clocking Skylake broke power states so I've got no idea what would have worked on my previous board (Asus Z170-E) and I barely remember my Haswell build, lol.

Adaptive voltage applies the offset at every frequency, offset only applies it at the highest clocks. I'd imagine most boards would want you to use offset.
