i5-9600k seems lame

Like today, the whole system seems to lag, so I reboot.
i5-9600k, rtx2070, 16GB 3GHz ddr4

And every step of the way seems slow, booting into win10, on an NMVe 512GB PCIe drive. My anti-V says' I'm ok. I never timed it, but just every step was slow, I could speak a sentene saying it's lagging, for a process that would normally fly by, it's not my imagination. Even if it not always this slow, or it was just some windowsn10 update.

IDK, firefox routinely runs into 30% CPU usage, ok maybe that's just video decoding, but lately that really bother's me. It should not, but it does.

I deleted my pointless rant, but I swear between win10, and firefox, my system seems lame.

IDK, as incredibly fast as this is at times, the whole thing feels like junk, and it should not.

I should probably re-install win 10, it's been just over a year

The more i notice this, the quicker I will want ryzen 4000 as soon as I can afford it, and it releases

yeah a storage 3TB, so any time that it is asleep, it takes a few seconds to spin up. I hate how the whole system lags for that too, I don't understand why they have to "interrupt" the whole system, as in freeze it

But thats not the general lag I'm whining about today

My FFox is below 5% (below 1% when OCN tab is focused, and I do have a 9600k), how many tabs and plugins?

Spinning up and down is actually bad for HDDs. You should disable that in the power plan. Then you don't have to wait for it to spin back up.

CPU temps are good, sits around 40C @ 4.5GHz at 5-10% load

The only reason I let the HDD sleep is for the noise, it's an older 3TB HDD. On the 1 hand I should only use it for storage, but right, it doesn't matter, if it's asleep, everytime win10 calls on the drives, it wakes up anyways (and the whole system dam near halts while waiting).

IDK, maybe I should really really use it for storage, and just unhook it.

I bet a windows 10 fresh install would be a good idea tho

How full is your SSD? Performance will degrade from about 50% capacity up to 100% capacity. I'm not sure how much this affects NVMe SSDs, but it's still characteristic of SSDs in general.

Disconnect your HDDs, then check for changes in boot time, etc.

Have you done any of the microsoft or bios updates for meltdown or spectre? These have been known to slow down the CPU.
