4790k is a 2 channel CPU.
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us...-4-40-ghz.html

Memory Specifications
Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type)
32 GB

Memory Types
DDR3-1333/1600, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.5V

Max # of Memory Channels
2

Max Memory Bandwidth
25.6 GB/s

ECC Memory Supported ‡
No

so having 4 slots doesn't matter. somewhere along the way it bridges down to two... though someone might try to argue that 4 sticks is more effort for the controller Vs. 2... idk anything about that.

Add me on Steam, same name
R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

Maybe the thermal paste under the top cover is dried. Delid might help.

High core temp will cause ram instability.

I did that while switching boards, got quite good at pasting now... should be ok. on another note i doubt the cpu can reach heat peaks so quickly. Note that the mobo ends up working after 30m of booting and rebooting.
