Is that normal?

finished building my first loop 4 days ago. I have the i9 9900k, 64gb memory 3466mhz, and evga ftw3 ultra 2080 Ti. I have 3 corsair rads 2 360 and 1 240. One of the 360 is 54mm. And the rest are 30mm slim. I have my i9 9900k running at stock with MCU on in bios. And i tried to test my system with prime95 with small ftt And avx2 on. And im getting 79-81c. Is this normal folks? Im really concerned. Usually in gaming i dont reach that max 57-60c. And my idle temps are like 35c.

Yeah sounds normal. Small FTT with AVX2 is absolutely brutal. Its a great way to kill your cpu if your voltages aren't in check.

Although 60c during gaming on a stock cpu with that amount of liquid cooling is just okay, do you happen to have a liquid coolant temperature probe?

no, go to the doctor if lasts more than 4 hours.

its' right on the label.

as to the topic at hand - each new chip runs hotter and hotter. It's all them extra +'s intel crams in.

its fine if you did everything right. did you do everything right? what are your ambient temps? I'd be willing to bet your gaming temps will be quite a bit lower than the bench.

Add me on Steam, same name

probably fine... that's the problem with these ever smaller arches. They become harder and harder to cool, even though in general they're pulling way less heat.

I had a similar tingle when checking my 9700k temps for the first time after slapping this sigv2 on. cools just slightly better than the EVO it replaced.
